1 hrIngredients
100g butter, diced | |
250g grated hard cheese (mozzarella or tasty)
2 cups flour | |
½ teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons cold water
40-50 pitted olives (you can use stuffed olives)
egg wash | |
sesame seeds |
This is a super-easy recipe to make with the kids. The olive bites can be frozen before baking and you can pull them out from the freezer straight to the oven when guests surprise you over the holiday season. A wonderful nibble to share.
Instructions
1. | In a food processor, combine the butter, cheese, flour, baking powder and water. |
2. | Add a little more water if necessary to get a smooth, pliable dough. |
3. | Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. |
4. | Wrap each olive in dough, moulding it with your fingers, and roll into a ball. |
5. | Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. |
6. | Bake at 180°C until golden, about 20 minutes (they may need a little longer if cooking from frozen). |
