We have always agreed that we will only stock items in our shop that we have personally tried and love, and we have used the same approach for this cookbook. Many of the recipes in this book are inspired by how we cook at home, how we celebrate and entertain with seafood. There are treasured family recipes we have grown up with, such as Anthony’s family favourite, Avgolemono Fish Soup, and others that have come from talking to our customers and learning how they cook at home. There are mainstays we sell in-store, such as The Fishmonger’s Son Fish Pie, and comforting dishes we like to make for our family, such as Blue-eye Parcel with XO Sauce and Seafood Youvetsi. This cookbook reflects who we are, our passion for eating well and simply, and our mission to encourage customers and readers alike to try something new.
