SCORE: 19/20
While the immensely successful Nick Honeyman, joint owner of Paris Butter, continues to make huge waves at Le Petit Léon in the south of France, local chef and joint owner Zennon Wijlens is growing in culinary stature at home. He is an exceptionally talented chef and leads a committed team on a mission to bring elegance and innovation together on the Paris Butter menu. The Jervois Rd restaurant is an oasis of calm and style, the service fine without formal, the drinks list brimming with class. Best of all Zennon, Nick and their team have achieved a reputation for consistency and creativity. Their energy and focus are legendary and they have become an inspiration for the many chefs from other restaurants who have joined them in expertly curated collab dinners. It is time to recognise the Paris Butter team for its hard work, dedication to local produce and sustainability, and, in particular its fearlessness in crafting its art. Hence our award of a third hat to a team that has well and truly paid its dues over the last 12 months. For his leadership and ingenuity, Zennon has earned the title of Cuisine Good Food Awards Chef of the Year for 2023/2024.
