If you are looking for a dining experience that is not only delicious but will intrigue and excite, look no further than Alta. Georgia van Prehn (formerly of Scotch Wine Bar, Blenheim) has hung up her shingle here, building on her thoughtful, creative cooking from Marlborough with mind-blowing combinations. To illustrate let us commend the ‘snacks and then’ starter: different shapes, colours and textures all coming together like a work of art. Very simple, very elegant, very beautiful. An excellent performance from the small team of staff deserves mention, as does the interesting and extensive wine list. It’s a set menu, but dietary requirements are catered for. If you’re hankering for something outside the classic, hurry to book a seat for an intriguing experience in this intimate K Road gem.
