There are countless Spanish tapas books, however this is my pick. Elisabeth is one of the most highly regarded writers on Spanish food and her knowledge shows through in the recipes, the notes and the background information where she recognises the importance of regionality and also what makes a balanced tapas meal. The recipes are delicious – the Malagan dishes using fresh sardines make me wish they were easier to come by here. If you’re barbecuing over summer, try the lamb ribs.
